forum topic, "what do you do when you see a hand coming at you? or maybe a shoe or a bag? you throw up your hands, trying to deflect the blow. you cover the most vulnerable areas and where the object is coming at you. it is a involuntary action, something you cant control. its your bodys way of protecting itself without having to really think about it first.
now say you are a person, whether it be a child, teenager or adult, and at some point in you life, you have been beaten. when someone raises a hand to you you flinch. another involuntary action due to fear. and the more you have been beaten, the worse the aftermath is. the more afraid you are.
so when i push you away. when i tell you to leave. its not because i want you to. its because me telling you to leave me is an involuntary action caused by my body out of fear of getting hurt. i have just been broken so many times and my self cant take much more, so it has built up this defense system thinking it will help, when really it only pushes away the people that can help."

That I'm special. That I'll change the world by just being here.
I like to think that I will better someone else's life by being in contact with them. By encouraging them. By holding their hand when they were at their lowest and dragging them out of the grasping jaws of solemnity.
I like to think I'll change this place. That this town will talk about me for years to come. People will be inspired by me. I will be the platform upon which other, little girls will build their dreams and create a life for themselves.
I like to think I'm special. That no one else can do what I do. That I am unique in my own, certain way. That I am untouchable by the years of wear and tear to come. That I will never be forgotten.
I like to think I know things. Sometimes I pretend that I know where the true suffering of the world lies. I pretend that I can pluck the suffering up, out of its cradle of deceit, lies and trickery. I pretend that I squash the suffering until it is no more, and the happiness will flow from my hands onto all of the people who were affected by the darkness.
I like to think I'm special. But then I look around me, at this little, bitty town with its little, bitty dreams. And I realize... I'm not special. But I *will* be."
